April 5, 2009 was a happy day for the Wings. We had been on several emotional "rollercoasters" during the last several months. Star was artificially inseminated with semen we had harvested from Jake after the first breeding of Star. One month after insemination we had her ultra-sounded. The vet's conclusion was "she isn't pregnant". What a let down! We watched her carefully over the next three weeks and she looked like she was getting bigger. My wife kept telling me she was pregnant. I kept hearing "false pregnancy" in the back of my mind. Needless to say, Candi was right! A follow-up ultrasound showed two puppies in Star! Dr. Cheryl Lopat delivered a healthy male and female by c-section on the 12th.
