DeJong’s Lucas was whelped February 27, 1999 by the first SMCNA President, Ray DeJong. He is owned by Jim and Stella Koertge of Ogden, UT.
Jake is calm and well mannered in the house or car. He is a sleek, lean dog with conformation that parallels the Heitmann line of breeding. DeJong’s Lucas glides with his nose near the ground in search of game. In the field he is an intense hunter. Jake has a very stylish point. He loves the water and is a top retriever of upland game or waterfowl.
DeJong’s Lucas’ Great Great Grandfather was Petos Alpha and his Great Great Grandmother was Bliss. They were the first two Small Munsterlanders qualified in a North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association (NAVHDA) Natural Ability test.
Bliss gave birth to the first registered litter of puppies in North America on April 12, 1977.
DK CH Stensgaards Assi, Jaegerbakkens Gremlin, Diana von der Schaferheide; Wolfsburg’s Moose and Wolfsburg’s Jo Jo are just a few of the other outstanding dogs in Jake’s lineage.
